Stanley came to us from a local a local shelter where he was brought in as a stray with obvious marks and scars of being abused, neglected and possibly used for a bait dog. Despite his rough start to life, Stanley is an extremely sweet boy who is unbothered by everything around him. He is docile, calm and has stolen our hearts here at TLCAR. Stanley is currently in a foster home with a small dog and a young child. He’s done wonderful with his interactions with other dogs and is doing very well learning what life should really be like for a pup! His foster mom reports that after working with him, he has learned how to walk properly on a leash quite quickly! He has zero food aggression and even met some kitties at the shelter with a tail wag and calm reaction. Stanley’s scars and missing bits here and there tell us that he has endured things no young pup should ever have to experience, but despite all of this, he has remained resilient, happy and nothing short of a wonderful house guest! All animals adopted from us will be spayed or neutered, dewormed for parasites, current with vaccines for their age and microchipped. Dogs will have tested negative for heartworms and given monthly heartworm, flea & tick prevention. Cats will have tested negative for FELV OR FIV and given Revolution monthly

The general adoption process is as follows:

Once we receive your application, the TLC Animal Rescue Board of Directors will review it to see if the animal you are interested in may be compatible with your family.
Once your application has been screened, we will arrange a meet and greet with you and your family members (including pets) and the animal you are interested in.
During this time, one of our adoption coordinators will be contacting your references and your veterinarian to verify if your pets are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines.  If the meet and greet was successful, and any other potential adopters have been ruled out, we will schedule a home check and move ahead with the adoption.
