"Maximus" is a staffy mix (dna test done a few years ago), male, microchipped, neutered, born 7/1/2017 (6 years old), 80lbs, up to date on rabies, crate trained but needs chew toy in it (no beds) and sturdy crate. Snuggle buddy. Loves his brother and tolerates other dogs who read his body language. No CATS. Would be fine as a solo dog in the home. Loves to snuggle but doesn't realize he isn't a lapdog unless you remind him. Low energy. Child friendly but he does need to be reminded that he is big boy. He has also had formal training and knows standard commands and is leash trained. Maximus was adopted as a puppy about 5 years ago. Sadly, they recently had to downsize into a smaller home and it has become very challenging which made the family decide to rehome him.

All animals adopted from us will be spayed or neutered, dewormed for parasites, current with vaccines for their age and microchipped. Dogs will have tested negative for heartworms and given monthly heartworm, flea & tick prevention. Cats will have tested negative for FELV OR FIV and given Revolution monthly

 

The general adoption process is as follows:

Once we receive your application, the TLC Animal Rescue Board of Directors will review it to see if the animal you are interested in may be compatible with your family.
Once your application has been screened, we will arrange a meet and greet with you and your family members (including pets) and the animal you are interested in.
During this time, one of our adoption coordinators will be contacting your references and your veterinarian to verify if your pets are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines.  If the meet and greet was successful, and any other potential adopters have been ruled out, we will schedule a home check and move ahead with the adoption.
